I can say that I've never seen any of these Steranko posters myself. I've seen the Kirby ones at conventions though.

KarenKarenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17032477453891087135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5293155946761960913.post-9121898266095659952010-06-29T12:10:45.235-05:002010-06-29T12:10:45.235-05:00A fan recently re-mastered the Hulk and Spidey pos...A fan recently re-mastered the Hulk and Spidey posters with coloring suggestions provided by Steranko. The SHIELD posted was printed in 8 by 11 inch size. The Hulk and Spidey posters were never printed, until later, when Steranko printed them himself in a Supergraphics book called STERANKO PORTFOLIO ONE, but not as posters, just as pages in the book.Tonyhttp://thedrawingofsteranko.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5293155946761960913.post-19971624586981182122010-06-26T10:48:00.660-05:002010-06-26T10:48:00.660-05:00B --

I guess my point was that Steranko's name was splashed all across the ad, leaving no doubt in my mind at least that it was him being promoted and not the company's characters. The posters mentioned do turn up from time to time in a history or biographical article, and are always a joy to see.

Thanks for the comment!

DougDoughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04248324005584963229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5293155946761960913.post-31608306740817696832010-06-26T00:58:51.449-05:002010-06-26T00:58:51.449-05:00" Sadly, longtime Bullpen stalwarts like Kirb..." The artwork's occasionally turned up elsewhere, so you'd probably recognise them...at the time I'd been reading comics for only a few months, but oh how I coveted those goodies. Unfortunately I was but an ignorant child living half a world away who knew nothing about international money orders etc.

Mind you, MArk Evanier's indicated that the fellow behind Marvelmania was not exactly on the up and up, and eventually absconded with a lot o'loot, leaving many orders unfulfilled...it's possible that nobody ever got their hands on these posters...do they ever turn up on eBay?

cheers
B Smith

PS My belated congrats on your recent anniversary, and by all means may it long continue!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5293155946761960913.post-21707619083138716062010-06-25T23:21:30.013-05:002010-06-25T23:21:30.013-05:00Ah Chris, it was glorious....Ah Chris, it was glorious....Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17032477453891087135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5293155946761960913.post-22135660966844753462010-06-25T22:26:51.731-05:002010-06-25T22:26:51.731-05:00One of my greatest regrets in life is being born t...One of my greatest regrets in life is being born too late to join FOOM.ChrisPVnoreply@blogger.com
