Doug: It was bound to happen sooner or later, with the collision of Disney, Marvel Comics, and Lucasfilm -- the return of Star Wars to Marvel Comics. Below is a variant cover to the first issue, and below that is the cover to Guardians 3000 #4.

The Star Wars cover is an Alex Ross homage to the cover of Star Wars #1 from 1977 and it looks so much better. I wish Conan would return to Marvel too.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Star Wars reimagining is great. And Darth Vader is the right color too. I like the Guardians explosion and am glad to see Aleta.
ReplyDeleteI dunno. This sounds like a recipe for disaster...
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH a visual nit-pick, but. . . the color of Aleta's gloved hands disappears into the similar color of the explosion. To the casual glance, she looks to be missing her hands completely. Just needs a bit more color contrast, or shadow definition or something, y'know?
ReplyDelete(But again-- a fine, high-passing grade from this judge still. . . )
HB
A movie directed by the same person who wrote the script and financed by one of the lead actors who picks a long time buddy to star with him.......for your consideration, I present ISHTAR.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a recipe for disaster.
The Prowler (Well there's a rose in a fisted glove and the eagle flies with the dove and if you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with).
All I wanna know is, when is Luke Skywalker gonna meet Starlord? Make it happen Disney!
ReplyDelete- Mike 'may the awesome mixtape be with you' from Trinidad & Tobago.
I suspect they will both be beamed aboard the USS SWINETREK by Cpt. Link Hogthrob (as a completely unforseen deus ex machina-esque move), in a perfect trifecta of Disney's monopoly on mega pop-cultural franchises. . .
