So, What Comic-Related Goodness Was Bestowed Upon You?

Doug: Christmas proper has come and gone, and while some out there may still be reveling not only in the spirit of the season, but also in family celebrations, let's pause to examine the haul thus far. What did you get?

Doug: Your host made out like a bandit -- helps when people stick to the list, you know? Actually, I am quite fortunate in that my family (on both sides -- in-laws included) humor this sick addiction I have to all things four-color fun. So, I got:

Legion of Super-Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga Deluxe Hardcover
The Art of Neal Adams hardcover from Vanguard Press
Modern Masters: John Byrne from TwoMorrows
Mego 8" Super-Heroes: World's Greatest Toys from TwoMorrows
The Green Goblin vs. Spider-Man and Superhero Squad Christmas tree ornaments

You?

Three graphic novels: Green Hornet: Year 1, Part 1; Jonah Hex: Counting Corpses; and Conan Volume 9: Free Companions and one great DVD set: The Tarzan Collection.

Yeah, I was pretty good this year. :D

I don't think I could have been very good this year - no comic-related goodness was bestowed on me :-(

...So I bought myself some comics instead:
Amazing Spider-Man no. 60
Avengers no. 62
Fantastic Four no. 104
Marvel Feature ( Defenders ) no. 2
The Mighty Thor no. 205

All part of a Marvel-ous Christmas!

Hope you Bronze Age Babies had a good one, too!

A nice retro-styled amp for my guitars, and a thermos.. BUT, just won a Famous Covers Reed and Sue and Iron Man, all dirt cheap.. (the best of the FC figures..).

AND, with the cash from both sets of parents, getting a Mego Dida Display of the Baxter Building (http://www.didadisplays.com/artwork_heroes.html) for my team.

It's one of those investments that, well, you really don't know where to put it, but you just KNOW you have to have it. :)

Wow, David -- just checked out those playsets! Those are custom, right?

The Mego book I got has all of the "official" playsets pictured, but I haven't had the chance to look through it in detail yet.

Interested parties may want to know that the Mego book is exhaustive in covering the World's Greatest Super-Heroes, but doesn't have much other than thumbnail photos and some advertisements for the Apes, Star Trek, etc.

Howdy folks! Hope everyone has had a nice holiday.

I didn't get much in the way of comics-related material, but I did get the Empire Strikes Back book I mentioned in our wish list post, and it's great! My husband also gave me a fantastic Mickey Mouse Sorcerer's Apprentice Big Fig, and a good friend sent me a book and poster from the Pixar exhibit at the Oakland Museum of California.

I bought myself a gift too: the Disney Treasures Tomorrowland: Disney in Space and Beyond DVD, which has a lot of great short films from the 1950s with the Disney vision of space travel!

Here's my holiday-related haul:
Sword of the Atom TPB (finally!)
Squadron Supreme TPB (the one with Gruenwald's complete 12-issue mini)
Avengers - Serpent Crown (which I am now reading through to catch up with your reviews)
Batman - Dark Detective (which I intend to read back to back with the Strange Apparitions volume that I snagged relatively cheap off of ebay about 2 months ago).

My local store graced me with a twenty dollar voucher for Christmas which I promptly dropped on the latest Conan Chronicles volume -- a beauty filled with Big John Buscema lusciousness.

My daughter got me the fourth volume of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, and that's what I've been doing the last few days between bouts of overeating.

Yum yum!

No comic-related stuff... I got a Star Wars sound keychain, and a Doctor Who t-shirt.

A banner year for comic-related stuff:
-Marvel cover postcards
-Spidey t-shirt (had to exchange it for a Dracula shirt because it was too small)
-Gift Cert. to one of my favorite LCS's
-An almost complete set of 90's Marvel trading cards (this was a from my cousin's personal collection when he was younger - I was quite touched by the gift)
